Custom Screen Printing Process
The screen printing process involves several steps:
-
Design Creation: The first step is to create the design that will be printed. This is usually done using graphic design software.
-
Screen Preparation: A screen (mesh stencil) is prepared by coating it with a light-sensitive emulsion. The design is then transferred onto the screen using a UV light source, which hardens the emulsion in the areas not covered by the design.
-
Setting Up the Screen: The screen is placed on a printing press, and the material to be printed on (such as a t-shirt) is positioned underneath.
-
Applying Ink: Ink is applied to the screen, and a squeegee is used to push the ink through the mesh stencil onto the material below. Each colour in the design requires a separate screen and layer of ink.
-
Drying: Once the ink is applied, the printed material is dried using a heat source to cure the ink and ensure it adheres properly.
-
Quality Check: The final product is inspected for any imperfections or inconsistencies in the print.
This entire process is carried out from our Mississauga warehouse, ensuring that every product meets our high standards of quality and durability.
